Listen to your experienced agent
We ended up doing all the things to the house that Deb suggested we should do in the first place: painted some walls, got rid of wallpaper that shrieked 1970s, and replaced worn carpet with wood-looking vinyl flooring in a few rooms (we were surprised how good it looked). It was a ton of work because we did everything ourselves (except for floors), but it paid off. We got several offers and sold above asking price. She really knew what she was doing! Thanks, Deb.
